Program RT106 Euromeeting 2005

 

• Thursday evening, May 12:
  Arrival of our RT106 Brothers & Sisters 

We start off with a relaxed evening at the home of one of our tablers: Harry’s Place. Plenty of food & drinks will be available. Meet your friends during a quiet stroll in the garden, a refreshing swim in the pool, or a few drinks at the bar. Rest from your long journey and make sure you collect enough energy for the next day. Your host family will meet you here and will take you home when the bar closes.

 

 

•  Friday morning/afternoon, May 13:
  The Amsterdamned Tour

All the things you always wanted to know but never dared to ask. Professional guides will show us around in the old centre of Amsterdam, including the red light district, one of the oldest parts in town. How many grams of marihuana can I buy over the counter? Ask the local coffee shop owner and let him inform you about the different flavours that are around. Hidden gardens and churches will be revealed and many historic facts will be pointed out to you. Of course, a visit would not be complete without viewing Amsterdam from the water. Lunch will be served on a private boat which will take us for a breathtaking tour through the canals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Friday afternoon/evening, May 13: Home Party

After your adrenaline rush in Amsterdam, it is time to cool down at home. Take a nap, have a shower and join us for dinner later on. To welcome you to Nijmegen, your host family will prepare a wonderful dinner. Enjoy the comforts of home and have a relaxed conversation. After the main course we will meet the others for desert at Harry’s place where we will entertain you with our Dutch Show. Plenty of drinks will be available but remember, make sure you bring your lucky charm. It is Friday the 13th after all.

 

• Saturday May 14: Official Meeting, Cycling, Boat Trip

Time to wear your jacket, shirt and tie. We will have the official meeting at the wonderful Huize Heijendaal.

 

 

 

 

 
Let us swap banners and discuss who will organise the RT106 meeting in 2006 and 2007.
No women allowed, I ‘m afraid. A professional guide will take the ladies for a walking tour through Nijmegen. We will meet again for lunch in Huize Heyendaal where the Mayor of Nijmegen will say a few words to us.

After a quick photo session with the Loco Mayor Mr. Depla, it is time to get on our bikes. Yes you read this correctly. The Dutch experience is not complete without a bike ride. But no worries. The cycling tour is short, downhill with the wind in our backs and leads us through one of the most beautiful country sites in the Netherlands.
 

It is a one way tour. We will travel back to the centre of Nijmegen by boat on which you can recover from your ‘ordeal’. Drinks and snacks will be served on board.

 

Once in Nijmegen, you will be brought to your host family where you can prepare yourself for the big night that is still to come.

 

• Saturday evening, May 14: Party Time!!!

Bring your good times and your dancing shoes too!!! We will dance the night away in Castle Doddendaal. This magnificent medieval castle will be the scenery of our entire evening. We have hired the whole castle, so plenty of room to talk, walk and dance. And don’t forget to eat and drink. With any luck there will be only 1 speech from our President and then we hope we will have the privilege of watching your shows. Preferred dress code: Black Tie. But no worries, we will let you in anyway.  

 

 

• Sunday, May 15: Brunch

Although we don’t want to think about it yet, the time will come that we have to say goodbye. But before you go, we will make sure you have plenty of energy to make the journey home. Brunch will be served in a very special place. Something extraordinary but at the same time typical Dutch. Curious? Join us in May 2005.

 

 

 

• Costs:

We have done our best to keep the costs to a minimum. Three packages can be distinguished and we hope of course that you all will choose for package number A. The full monty.

B. From Friday evening – Sunday: 160 Euro

C. From Saturday evening – Sunday: 75 Euro

 

Payments are preferred cash upon arrival.
