Wolves in Germany

Currently 5 wolf packs and 1 pair of wolves live in Germany, all in or around the Eastern-German region Lausitz. In the western part of Poland another 4 wolf packs live. In addition, there are 6 territorial but solitary wolves in central and eastern Germany. Besides these territorial wolves, young adult wolves wander around and are sometimes observed.
