EW Facility Services wins ‘Arnhem Compliment’

Compliment
10 March 2016 - At the Arnhem Entrepreneurs Night on 9 March EW Facility Services was awarded the ‘Arnhem Compliment’, a prize that is awarded by the Arnhem Challenge to two companies that have made special efforts to contribute to social initiatives.
Connections
To give something back to society, during its jubilee year EW Facility Services adopted the Bio Holiday Park as its chosen charity. For a year long the organisation worked with some 100 volunteers to convert an old pavilion into two modern holiday homes for children with a disability and their families. To mark its jubilee the company wanted to contribute to an environment where everyone can feel free and easy. Bas Cornelissen, managing director of EW Facility Services, says: “It was great to work together for a shared goal. And as well as doing something for the Bio Holiday Park, it also built connections between and with colleagues.”
It wasn’t only colleagues who made a contribution: a number of partners were also closely involved in the project. For the jury, this was one of the factors that made the project stand out. “By challenging business associates to also make a commitment, EW Facility Services put together an impressive total package as a ‘gift to society’, with connections to both the recipient and its own employees and associations.”
Social Responsibility
EW Facility Services attaches great value to social responsibility. This goes further than a focus on environmentally friendly working practices and other initiatives directly connected with the company’s processes; it is also clearly focused on the investments that can be made to help society as a whole. Bas Cornelissen: “Charities do a lot of good work that our society cannot do without. Doing voluntary work, no matter how big or small, makes a lot of difference. It felt good to do our bit for the Bio Holiday Park.”
Official opening
The holiday homes were recently officially opened by the management board of the Bio Child Convalescence Foundation. Mr Diederik Laman Trip, chairman of the management board: “We are extremely grateful to EW Facility Services for all their support. Thanks to them, this year even more families with a child with a disability can enjoy a carefree vacation at the Bio Holiday Park. By way of thanks, the names of the two new holiday bungalows, Eve and Wall-E, refer to the EW of EW Facility Services.”
The end of the odd-job marathon doesn’t mean the end of the partnership between EW Facility Services and the Bio Holiday Park. Bas Cornelissen: “We will retain our close connection with the Bio Holiday Park. As an ambassador, we expect to achieve even more great things together.”
