EW Facility Services management team join in on the workfloor

24 Februari 2016 - Last week was all about involvement, learning from each other and gaining knowledge. On 19 February the management team of EW Facility Services got down to work with the cleaning staff at locations including the Topaz Revitel Convalescence Hotel, Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Ikea Zwolle and Hilton Brussels during the annual ‘Management Team on the Workfloor’ day.
Managing director Bas Cornelissen was working at the Topaz Revitel Convalescence Hotel in Leiden. He looks back on an inspirational day: “It was enjoyable and effective to work together with colleagues at a client’s location for a day. You learn a lot from the experience, and it offers an opportunity to test out the vision of EW Facility Services with colleagues and the client.”
Under the inspiring leadership of housekeeper Ilze, district director Leon de Jong got down to work at the new Hilton Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. “I was given a really hospitable welcome. What commitment, enthusiasm and involvement! Every year during the ‘Management Team on the Workfloor’ day I’m even more aware of the hard work our committed employees carry out to ensure our clients’ satisfaction. That makes me proud.”
In Belgium Kris Calle, director of EW Belgium, rolled up his sleeves at Hilton Hotel Brussels. From cleaning the rooms, to shadowing the housekeeper, to consulting with the client: he experienced all the facets. “For me, a day of wholeheartedly joining in on the workfloor generates connection, inspiration, team spirit and energy. This day at the Hilton was an inspirational experience, with all kinds of informative activities and interesting conversations with engaged people”, says Kris.

As a signatory of the Responsible Market Behaviour Code, EW Facility Services aims to be a good employer. An important component of this is maintaining contacts with the workfloor and listening to - and learning from - employees’ practical experiences. But the management team doesn’t only emphasise its involvement with employees through the ‘Management Team on the Workfloor’ day.
